always waiting....
It seems like we spend our entire lives waiting, waiting for something to happen to us. But what's wrong with right now and enjoying living and what you're doing today, this minute, right now? I mean think about it, it's only September and yet stores are already selling Halloween costumes and candy. ABC Family is already advertising their 13 Nights of Halloween countdown. Other channels are playing Christmas movies. But what's wrong with enjoying September while its here instead of always looking forward to what's to come. For weeks the students at school have been talking about Homecoming week and the Homecoming football game, but there's been other football games that have been fun too. No matter what it is people are always waiting for something. Maybe you just broke up with a girlfriend or boyfriend and people tell you that only time will make you feel better. Or you're driving to the store and it's a red light, someone crossing the street, a train, or maybe even a car accident, but guess what? You're still waiting. I hear people talk about how they can't wait for it to be the weekend because they will see their friend, but why can't they see their friend on a Tuesday, or Wednesday? Or better yet, have fun doing other stuff until the weekend so that you aren't waiting. It's as if society makes you wait. Movie trailers that look super exciting and make you want to see the movie but it doesn't come out for several months. Then people wait and wait and wait for that movie, but in the meantime there are plenty of other movies that they could see. People make plans in advance then say I can hardly wait until this happens. But what's wrong with living in the moment? Enjoying the simple things that happen each day instead of just enjoying special days in which something happens? Seniors say they can't wait until graduation, but what about the 8 months between then and now? All the fun events we can participate in like football games, Homecoming, rallies, Winter Formal, Prom, etc? Can't we live our lives one day at a time instead of always looking forward to whats coming?
